Angels’ Taylor Ward runs into digital scoreboard, carted off

Los Angeles Angels left fielder Taylor Ward left in the eighth inning of the team’s 3-0 victory against the Houston Astros on Sunday, Aug. 31.

Ward had his head up as he was tracking down a ball hit by Ramón Urías in the outfield before running face-first into the metal scoreboard at Daikin Park.

The outfielder walked toward the Angels’ bullpen for assistance as teammates came to his aid with a towel to cover a cut he received after crashing into the screen.

Ward was carted off the field and did not return to the game.
